Tesla has announced the full pricing details on their upcoming Tesla Model S electric sedan with the starting price of $49,900 after a $7,500 federal tax credit ($57,400 before the tax credit).
There are three variants to choose from where prices also vary. The starting price of $57,400 is for the base model, with a battery pack capable of traveling 160 miles on a full charge. An additional cost of $10,000 is for the 230-mile range variant and $20,000 for the 300-mile range variant.
The first 1,000 units to be produced will be the top of the line Model S 300 which has a total cost of $77,400 and will be initially called as “Model S Signature Series” in the United States. Deliveries will hit US market in summer of 2012, with the 230 and 160 versions coming later in the year.
These electric sedans can be recharged from any 120v, 208v or 240v outlet and can sprints from 0-60 mph in just 5.6 seconds with a top speed limited to 130 mph.
